Anake describes his career path as a "random walk", incorporating disparate roles such as freezing worker union delegate, nurseryman, Treaty settlement negotiator, and establishment board member of the EPA. He currently sits on the boards of Meridian Energy, The Gift Trust, and the Hillary Institute of International Leadership. A significant current focus is his Seed The Change | He Kākano Hāpai; an incubator in support of people with very early stage ideas that are in service to a more sustainable, equitable and joyous future.
